CHICAGO

On October 5th I went to Chicago for an event my company was hosting and that I planned with my co-worker Kristin. It was a really quick trip but thanks to my co-worker Erika from our Chicago office we were able to see a lot of great things in Chicago. I had an AMAZING steak at Hugo's Frog Bar on Rush Street, deep dish pizza at Pizzaria Unos, and a delicious breakfast at the Bongo Cafe. The Blackstone Hotel where we stayed and hosted the event was beautiful. I will definitely be returning with the hubby to see the bean! Our descent into Chicago:
Our hotel room - very nice
The view of Lake Michigan from our room
Hugo's Frog Bar - a delicious steak!
The view from the John Hancock building was breathtaking
We were on the 95th floor
After dinner and drinks it was time to find a cab home!
Running around the city
It is beautiful at night
Scott and I braving the wind - it is not called the windy city for nothing!
Yay Starbucks! Kristin said I fit right in with the college students The Art Institute
This picture reminds me of ER

We were told the best deep dish is at Pizzaria Uno
Great Chicago decor
Here was my delicious pizza - Chris wasn't sharing so that meant I got to have olives!
all gone! well almost
Our beautiful Chicago office
They have an amazing view!
This is the event we planned - a dessert reception in The Art Hall
The walls had artwork from the nearby Columbia College
The adjoining room had weird hand sculptures. At 1am they are very funny
don't ask

Chris & Jen's Engagement Party

On September 27th the family headed to Yorba Linda to celebrate the very exciting engagement of my cousin Chris and his beautiful Jen. It was a great night and we cannot wait for the wedding!

Congrats to the happy couple!

Great Golfs Think Alike

I am very proud of my Obama car magnet. Then when I was driving to the gym I saw a Blue Golf with the exact same Obama car magnet in almost the exact same place. What are the chances of that in Los Angeles!

Urban Light

One of the reasons I love LA is that you can be driving and suddenly see something spectacular and beautiful. On the way home from Obama-rama I made Chris stop to take shots of this:

Obama-rama

On a Tuesday night I went out with my friend Jennie to support Barack Obama at a fundraiser held at Spaceland. The bands were great and the night was informative. Chris met us there after work which made the night complete. It felt really nice to participate in something within the city that was just about people getting together to raise money for a great cause.

Date Night

The hubby and I went out for margaritas and tacos at Pink Taco. He was so happy with his blended margarita until this happened. So cute.

A Night Out with the Steeles

Two weekends ago Krysten and Jonathan came out to celebrate Jonathan's birthday. Chris and I put together a true LA night with traffic, Los Feliz, Cuban food, The Griffith Observatory and finally drinks at The Dresden Room. I hope they had as much fun as we did! I love this picture of Krysten she looks like she is 14.

It was a beautiful night in Los Angeles
