Go Daddy!

So last night my Mom called me in delight because my Dad had just voted for Barack Obama on his write in ballot. My Dad has either been in between or a fierce supporter of McCain but in recent weeks realized that his vote would go to (in his words) "The person. Not the party. I voted for the person who I thought would be the next best President". I'm so proud and his future granddaughters will be proud of his decision to support their rights as well. Now my Mom has been cheering for Obama from day one so she gets kudos too. :)

HALLOWEEN!!!

I love Halloween. It is my favorite holiday. So when I do it, I do it right. Decorations, pumpkin patch and I am even making my own pumpkin seeds this year. I had to cancel my pumpkin carving party with chili over the weekend because of a cold but I managed to get it done after I felt better.

Ojai Day

Two weekends ago Chris and I headed up to Ojai to celebrate Mer's birthday and visit little Evan. It was GORGEOUS outside so we took the smart car up PCH where Chris took some pictures. I followed with my little digital camera. :) When we got into Ojai there was a festival for "Ojai Day". Chris and I weaseled awesome parking and got some lunch. I love Northern California.
I got to hold him all day! I changed diapers, fed him, got spit up on, pooed on. Now I can babysit!

Memory Foam

I know that blogging about getting a new memory foam mattress is lame, but the kitties were so cute that I have to share the pictures. Charlotte knew immediately the benefits of this on the back:
Chris and his other woman
Now my special Leo was not quite sure what to do with it. He sat and stared for a good 20 minutes and ended up freaking out and hopping onto Chris' guitar. Poor little weasel.

Thanks family for pushing us to get this. I have been sleeping like the dead. :)

Memories

Today I found this polaroid that I stole from Chris in my desk at work. He took it of himself while on his Europe trip (note the mohawk). I have kept it in my drawer for three years so that when I open it I see him. It reminds me of when we were only emailing each other as friends and when he "jokingly" said I should meet him in London. I was a freshman in college with a boyfriend. What he did not realize is that I would have met him in a heartbeat. I would have met him anywhere. This picture reminds me to not take him for granted and makes me happy that after knowing eachother for 13 years, dating for 5 and being married for 3, I still feel like I did that day in my dorm room. I would still do anything just to be with him.

Joe Biden in La La Land

Last night I was lucky enough to be invited to see Joe Biden speak and Maroon 5 play. Joe has a great presence, was very funny and is someone who I would love to have a beer with. He is passionate and to the point. It was very exciting! Obama Biden 08!

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Tomorrow it is our beautiful niece Sarah's birthday! Hugs and kisses from your Aunt & Uncle! (Plus look out for Apple goodies coming your way!!!)

Happy Birthday Laurie!

Yesterday was Chris' sister Laurie's birthday (center in photo). We wish we could have celebrated with her but I hope she had a wonderful day and we can't wait to see her again. Isn't Chris lucky to have such beautiful sisters!

Chad Came to Visit

This past weekend Chad drove in to go to the USC vs. ASU game at the Coliseum with Chris. Unfortunately (or fortunately!) his team lost 28-0. It was a shut out. He rallied though and we ended his trip with yummy grub at John O'Groats. I love going there this time of year because they have delicious pumpkin pancakes! Chris had the Grandma scramble. Hee hee. Chad was brave and had the Huevos O'Groats Featured in L.A. Magazine's Top 100 Dishes. Tortilla is made from biscuit dough, topped with black beans, sauteed Onions and peppers, with two eggs over medium shredded cheese, Sour cream and salsa. Yum. Oh yeah I am going to try to incorporate a food review portion to the blog. Yay.

CHICAGO

On October 5th I went to Chicago for an event my company was hosting and that I planned with my co-worker Kristin. It was a really quick trip but thanks to my co-worker Erika from our Chicago office we were able to see a lot of great things in Chicago. I had an AMAZING steak at Hugo's Frog Bar on Rush Street, deep dish pizza at Pizzaria Unos, and a delicious breakfast at the Bongo Cafe. The Blackstone Hotel where we stayed and hosted the event was beautiful. I will definitely be returning with the hubby to see the bean! Our descent into Chicago:
Our hotel room - very nice
The view of Lake Michigan from our room
Hugo's Frog Bar - a delicious steak!
The view from the John Hancock building was breathtaking
We were on the 95th floor
After dinner and drinks it was time to find a cab home!
Running around the city
It is beautiful at night
Scott and I braving the wind - it is not called the windy city for nothing!
Yay Starbucks! Kristin said I fit right in with the college students The Art Institute

This is the event we planned - a dessert reception in The Art Hall
The walls had artwork from the nearby Columbia College
The adjoining room had weird hand sculptures. At 1am they are very funny
