BYE BYE APPENDIX

So first I want to thank everyone who sent sweet thoughts and love our way. Last Friday, after 3 days of complaining of stomach pains, Chris was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery to have his Appendix out. I know that everyone is asking why he waited so long but he was being a boy about it and thought it would go away.

He had a great surgeon who skipped the cat scan and got him right into surgery. his appendix had BURST and built a natural wall around itself to block the toxins from the rest of the body. This then abscessed and became gangrenous. Yucky. Here is what it looked like:

YUCK I KNOW! You will never look at orange chicken the same again. haha. Got you.

A healthy appendix should be plump and pink like your intestine. He was able to have it done laproscopically and forgo the large incision many people have. The doctor said it was a 7 out 10 in severity so he was really lucky to get it out in time. I cried like a little baby for 3 hours. He was in his room at 10:30pm Friday and was discharged Monday afternoon.
While he slept Angela and I went to lunch on the famous Robertson Blvd which houses The Ivy. This is the paparazzi craziness that was going on Sunday afternoon. I did a lot of this while waiting and being nurse. Everyone working there thought I was his sister and that Angela was his wife! Then I threw down the wife card and they knew I meant business! hehe

I really could not have gotten through any of the hospital/move/decorating new apartment without my amazing sister-in-law. She was there for me and Chris every day and helped us get through this really tough time. We love her. Isn't she pretty :)
So the most important thing is that my baby is better and resting on the couch. I am so grateful for everyone at Cedars and for my family and friends. Chris was such a trooper through all of this and I am glad that it is over. Only Chris would wear sunglasses to exit the hospital.

xoxo,
c&a
